Meriq is a private AI platform built for people who want powerful AI access without being tracked. Your conversations are not used for training. Content is processed by Meriq and the providers needed to fulfill your requests; saved content follows your storage and retention settings. Beyond standard chat, we offer deep research, agent mode, image generation, file analysis, and an artifact studio.

By default, conversations exist only in your browser. If you turn on the optional cloud vault, they're synced and encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key we never store. Your password unlocks it when you sign in, only your signed-in browser can reopen it, and our servers use it in memory only while handling your requests. You can switch between local-only and cloud storage at any time from Settings. Disabling the vault removes all encrypted vault data from cloud storage, so existing conversations are wiped from our servers and will not be restored when you re-enable it.

No, and that's a hard rule — not a setting you have to configure. Your prompts, responses, and uploaded files are never used for model training. This applies to everyone, regardless of plan.

Meriq gives you access to a wide range of AI models, from fast everyday chat models to deep reasoning models built for complex tasks. You can switch between them mid-conversation without losing your thread.

Meriq detects refusals automatically. On eligible models, a refused answer is credited back to your quota, up to a daily limit. All usage is still subject to the Terms of Service.

Image generation and editing use a credit balance on eligible plans. Free: 3 included (starter credits; no recurring refill); Plus Yearly: 50 per month (monthly or annual billing); Plus: 50 per month (monthly or annual billing); Pro Yearly: 150 per month (monthly or annual billing); Pro: 150 per month (monthly or annual billing); Power Yearly: 400 per month (monthly or annual billing); Power: 400 per month (monthly or annual billing). File uploads require an eligible plan. Plus Yearly: 120 uploads per month; Plus: 120 uploads per month; Pro Yearly: 360 uploads per month; Pro: 360 uploads per month; Power Yearly: 500 uploads per month; Power: 500 uploads per month. Attached files may be retained with saved content according to your storage and retention settings. Unattached staged uploads are normally removed after approximately 60 minutes. Deep research is our autonomous research feature. Give it a topic and it builds a structured research plan, searches across multiple sources, reads the relevant pages, and comes back with a fully cited report — all without you needing to guide it step by step.

Agent mode lets the AI actually do things, not just talk about them. It can write and run code (Python, JavaScript, or Bash), browse the web, and read and write files — all inside an isolated sandbox. The workspace resets after each session, so nothing carries over.

To remove cloud-stored conversations, delete them from your conversation list or delete your account entirely. Account deletion removes saved content and preferences from active systems. Minimal billing, security, or legally required records may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy. Security logs are purged automatically after 30 days.
